Colonel Thomas E. Lawrence always aspired to be a great writer. His 1926 published book “Seven Pillars of Wisdom” was an autobiographical account of his years in the Ottoman Empire during WWI – and is why many in the 21st century know him as Lawrence of Arabia.  Philip Neale explores whether Lawrence succeeded in his writing ambitions, as well as the checkered history of “Seven Pillars” and the facets of Lawrence’s varied compositions. This program is presented in partnership with the T.E. Lawrence Society.
